Meet Our Doctors

Kurt A. Johnson, DMD

Dr. Kurt Johnson was born in Meadville, PA and raised in Saegertown, PA. He graduated from Saegertown Area High School in 1984. He then graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1988 with a BS degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Johnson received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from The Universirsity of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine in 1993.

Dr. Johnson is an active member of the Peek Plan Track 1 for the last 23 years. His continuing education is at the highest level. He is past president of the Erie County Dental Society and was influential in getting fluoride in Erie's water system. After graduating, Dr. Johnson acquired the long standing practice of Dr. Barry Westover. Since then he has been at his current location for the past 25 years. As of June 2018, Dr. Johnson has acquired and merged the practice of Dr. Stephen Radack into his location.

Dr. Johnson is the school dentist for both the Millcreek School District and the Wattsburg School District and has held that position for many years. He also was a past Erie School District Dentist and has previously volunteered at St. Pauls Free Neighborhood Clinic. Dr. Johnsons hobbies included hunting, cars and hockey.

Dr. Johnson and his wife Barbara, a dental hygienist, have three children, Amanda, Claire and Kurt Jr. They and their dogs Bella and Audi reside in Millcreek township. Barbara graduated from Villa Maria Academy, University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Hygiene and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Dental Health Education.


Stephen T. Radack, III, D.M.D.

Dr. Radack was born in Pittsburgh and grew up in both Erie and Butler having attended Lawrence Park Elementary School and then graduating from Butler Area High School. He is a graduate of Grove City College with a BS in Chemistry and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine in 1986.

He returned to Erie full time in 1986 after graduating to start his dental practice, purchasing the former practice of Dr. Gilbert Steg at 413 East 38th Street and practiced at the location for 32 years. In June 2018 he merged his practice with Dr. Kurt Johnson and relocated the office to 3822 Wayne Street.

 Dr. Radack has been very active in the Erie County Dental Association, the Ninth District Dental Society and both the Pennsylvania and American Dental Associations. He is also a fellow in both the International College and American College of Dentists.

 He has taken a special interest in dental education serving as consultant dental examiner for the Northeast Regional Board of Examinations (clinical licensing) and as former member of the American Dental Association’s Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (written examination).

 Dr. Radack has served as a school dentist for the Erie School District and as a volunteer dentist at the St. Paul’s Neighborhood Free Clinic. He has also served on the school board at St. Luke School and on the Finance Council at St. Luke Church.

 Dr. Radack and his wife Mary, a nurse at St. Vincent Health Center, have two adult children, Cassie and Stephanie and live in Millcreek with their dog, Lexie.
