Meet Our Doctors
Kurt A. Johnson, DMD
Dr. Kurt Johnson was born in Meadville, PA and raised in Saegertown, PA. He graduated from Saegertown Area High School in 1984. He then graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1988 with a BS degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Johnson received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from The Universirsity of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine in 1993.
Dr. Johnson is an active member of the Peek Plan Track 1 for the last 23 years. His continuing education is at the highest level. He is past president of the Erie County Dental Society and was influential in getting fluoride in Erie's water system. After graduating, Dr. Johnson acquired the long standing practice of Dr. Barry Westover. Since then he has been at his current location for the past 25 years. As of June 2018, Dr. Johnson has acquired and merged the practice of Dr. Stephen Radack into his location.
Dr. Johnson is the school dentist for both the Millcreek School District and the Wattsburg School District and has held that position for many years. He also was a past Erie School District Dentist and has previously volunteered at St. Pauls Free Neighborhood Clinic. Dr. Johnsons hobbies included hunting, cars and hockey.
Dr. Johnson and his wife Barbara, a dental hygienist, have three children, Amanda, Claire and Kurt Jr. They and their dogs Bella and Audi reside in Millcreek township. Barbara graduated from Villa Maria Academy, University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Hygiene and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Dental Health Education.
Dr. Gabriella Galvez
Dr. Gabriella Galvez is an enthusiastic general dentist with a passion for delivering mindful, gentle, and exceptional dental care. Hailing from Rockaway, NJ, she is new to Erie. Dr. Galvez graduated Magna Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT, with a Bachelor’s in Health Science Studies and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry. She then completed a one-year general practice residency at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ, where she met her fiancé.
Dr. Galvez brings experience in restorative, cosmetic, and pediatric dentistry. She is also well-versed in root canal treatments, tooth extractions, implant restorations, dentures, crowns, and bridges, and is certified in Invisalign clear aligners. She enjoys meeting patients of all ages and looks forward to caring for you and your family.
She prides herself on her ability to make anxious patients feel comfortable in the chair. Dr. Galvez is a member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Clear Aligners. She enjoys continuing education and learning the newest techniques and technology to provide the best care for her patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Galvez enjoys learning golf, reading, hula dancing, and spending time with her family over good food. She lives with her fiancé, Brian, a family physician born and raised in Erie.
